Indian star cricketer Yuvraj Singh was given the prestigious Arjuna Award by Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India at the Rashtrapati Bhavanon

Yuvraj who is eying a comeback after the cancer treatment said, “It is a great honour to get the award from the President of India. I finally got it after being nominated for it in the past. I am working hard for a successful comeback and this will motivate further to give my best,” said Yuvraj.
Indian star, Yuvraj Singh, who came back to India after successfully winning the battle against Cancer has launched ‘YouWeCan’, an initiative which is dedicated to raise cancer-awareness among masses.
Yuvraj Singh Foundation will be supporting this initiative by spreading awareness about Cancer and how to fight it in early stages.
Yuvraj Singh during the ceremony said, “The journey from being a part of the World Cup-winning team to fighting for my life has indeed been full of emotions. I was faced with the biggest high of witnessing India lift the World Cup and the shock of suffering from cancer, both at nearly the same time. Having experienced cancer personally, I can totally empathize with the pain and difficulties faced by a cancer patient and thus we have launched ‘YouWeCan’.”
The BCCI has decided to recommend Yuvraj Singh for the Arjuna Award and Rahul Dravid for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. This was announced by BCCI’s CAO Prof Ratnakar Shetty after the government extended the deadline for nominations till 20th July.
Yuvraj Singh remembered Dara Singh who died after prolonged illness and wrote on twitter, “Very sad to hear about dara singh ji! May his soul rest in peace !! Heart goes out to vindu and family.”
Yuvraj Singh is eying his comeback in the T20 world cup and fans are hopeful that they will see the best of him soon.
Yuvraj Singh is all set to come back to India and is super-excited to see his family and friends. He is expected to be back in India on monday i.e April 08, 2012.

Yuvraj Singh who was undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed for a rare cancer will not be able to play cricket for few more months.
Indian allrounder Yuvraj Singh completed the second cycle of chemotherapy and tweeted “Second cycle has finished today ! Had a bleomycin shot feeling weak but I’m sure tom will be a better day ! My next scan dated on 7th march.”
The good news is that Yuvraj will be on field in the first week of May. The stylish left hander was missed by India during its Australia tour and over India, prayers are being offered for his speedy recovery.

The swashbuckling Indian all rounder Yuvraj Singh who is undergoing chemotherapy tweeted about his health and the news sent a wave of happiness as he tweeted “Got very good news from dr lawrence today! The tumor is almost way out of the system Aftr reading my todays scan!Second cycle has started.”
During the treatment, Yuvi is keeping himself busy by reading Armstrong’s autobiography ‘It’s Not About The Bike.’ Armstrong has also got the treatment for cancer and is now reported to be fit. Last week Armstrong sent a message to Yuvraj and wished for his speedy recovery. In reply to that, Yuvi showed his desire to meet the cycling legend.
